Mother walks with children between a row of tents in set up at Camp Shaver in City Park (now MacArthur Park) for the United Confederate Veterans Reunion, Little Rock, Pulaski County, Arkansas, May 1911. Consisting of approximately 1,330 tents, the camp provided free temporary housing for veterans during the U.V.C. Reunion in Little Rock. Veterans in the encampment christened the camp "Camp Shaver" for Colonel Robert G. Shaver of Mena, Polk County, Arkansas who recruited, organized and commanded the 7th Arkansas Regiment for the Confederate Army.
